Policy Limit Demands

Panel and guest speakers re: Nuclear verdicts and social inflation has resulted in a significant increase in the number of policy limits demands carriers are receiving.  There are substantial implications to ignoring or not properly evaluating such policy limits demands. California Code of Civil Procedure §§ 999-999.5 made sweeping changes to the handling of policy limits demands beginning January 1, 2023.

We will discuss the effect these changes have on handling policy limits demand as well as recent case law.
