Our Concord office is seeking a motivated, creative, organized, and experienced Senior Construction Consultant with a strong focus on construction cost estimating. We are seeking candidates with construction experience as project manager, superintendent, estimating, cost analysis, and budgeting.
Role and Responsibilities:
Repair scope and cost estimating using Excel, Xactimate, Planswift, and Bluebeam.
Perform field inspections.
Evaluate restoration and develop scope of repair.
Prepare findings reports, inspection summaries, and destructive testing reports.
Communicate and coordinate with staff and management to ensure deadlines and costs are met.
Interface with clients and project representatives.
Preferred Skills:
The ideal candidate should have/be:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, MS Outlook, Work, Excel and Adobe Acrobat.
Highly organized individual with attention to detail who can efficiently identify errors, discrepancies and variances, while maintaining client trust and integrity.
Effective communicator with ability to communicate professionally in email, in meetings and on the phone.
Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks while working effectively with limited supervision.
Ability to work well both individually and as a part of a team.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
Licensed General Contractor or Engineer preferred.
5-10 years of relevant work experience in residential or commercial construction at a superintendent or project manager level.
Ability to travel as required
Cost estimating skills must include sophisticated capability to manipulate various cost estimating forms to adapt and respond with comparative bids.
Previous experience using estimating software.
Proven personal computer experience with sophisticated knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Previous experience with project management software and methodology
Prior field inspection, customer service and/or quality control experience is preferred
Broad understanding of various trade disciplines within construction industry.
Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Proven project organizational skills.
Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
Candidate should be detail-oriented with an ability to work independently.
Ability to work under project deadlines and adapt to changing project tasks as dictated by case deadlines and attorney client priorities
Minimum of high school education or GED.
Excellent writing and communication skills.
Must have a valid California (Class C) Driver’s License.
